Liberty if it means anything blah blah blah.

Hope nobody minds this non-Aaro/Cohen post, but it's sort of relevent in a Decentist-hypocrisy kind of way. I used to comment on postings at "Harry's Place" when they really pissed me off (and was astonished at the virulence of HP regulars' reactions to my comments). When General Sir Michael Rose made his statements the other week and HP had no mention of this, to me, major development, I placed comments in the stories they did cover saying "yeah but what about General Sir Michael Rose?". Now I am barred from putting comments on HP.

Semi-relatedly, the following question from 'Gene' encapsulates the Decentist worldview brilliantly:

Now that Mubarak has spoken in such glowing terms of Galloway, does this mean his regime will be removed from the list of Arab governments which anti-imperialist leftists feel free to denounce wholeheartedly?

Ray - I suspect that if Hitchens, the Harryettes et al. come up with enough terms of abuse for those who disagree with them, they get to win the argument.

Vinnie - the fact that you were banned after one simple question says a lot about the mentality of HP. I haven't been over there for a while, not least because the siege/bunker mentality was well-entrenched. My temptation to post a comment was restrained by the cyber-kicking I'd have got for anything other than endorsing the 'party line'. (Mind you, perhaps if I'd trolled as a Bush-loving neo-con...)

PS: 'Liberty, if it means anything, means the right to quote George Orwell selectively and only when it suits you', as any fule kno.

This is another reason I don't like the term Decent left. Reading their howls of rage and bigotry over this cartoon business, watching them cheerlead for war and ban anyone who argues against themand watching their foul witchunts of anyone who deviates from their orthodoxy makes me despair sometimes.

I think the word decent is the last thing we should call them.

But sonic, irony has been reborn. This is our own decent orthodoxy.

I suppose you are right mate, I'd just like something that annoyed them a little more.

This cartoon business has shown up their true colours in even sharper relief than ever. Watching Those smug sanctamonous bigots who got people sacked from the Guardian and launched every smear under the sun at Livingstone etc, trying to present themselves as reasonable just drives me nuts.

*takes an asprin and goes for a long lie down*

Sonic was humiliated by Kamm on HP when trying to defend an anti-Jewish bigot.

No wonder sonic bursts into tears whenever he's reminded of his stupidity.

Sorry about this chaps, my pet stalker seems to have followed me here......

How is the global PR business these days stalky? can you recommend any firms who specialise in rapid response approach to media campaigns. perhaps by monitoring breaking news around the globe, securing client coverage by offering comment and soundbites as a story unfolds?
